The health and safety of our employees, communities, and products remain our top priority at Baffin Fisheries. We are taking significant precautionary measures and implementing new policies and procedures to stay safe during the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
We recognize that vessel crew will face additional inconvenience or hardship this season, and we thank them for their understanding and accommodation. All crew are required to quarantine for two weeks prior to sailing. Several new measures and restrictions are in place during fishing trips, and upon landing. All vessels are being professionally sanitized (mist-cleaned) on a regular basis prior to sailing, and between fishing trips. Our offices are closed. Office staff are working from home, and working whatever hours are necessary to get us through these extraordinary times.
Access to vessels is restricted to essential personnel only, and strict screening measures are in place prior to boarding.
Baffin Fisheries thanks its dedicated team of fishermen, mariners, and employees for unanimous and overwhelming support and cooperation demonstrated during this global crisis.
We continue to assess the COVID-19 situation and will adjust polices and procedures as required to minimize the risk to our employees while ensuring the safe delivery of our essential seafood products. The world needs safe, secure, high-quality protein, and Baffin Fisheries will continue to deliver its healthy, sustainable products throughout 2020.
We thank you for your continued support.
On behalf of the Board of Directors,
David Alexander, Chairman, Baffin Fisheries
