Northern shrimp is one of the most important species of wild shrimp in the world and an excellent source of protein.
Shrimp is highly nutritious. It is fairly low in calories and provides a high amount of protein and healthy fats, in addition to a variety of vitamins and minerals. The Sivulliq and Inuksuk vessels contribute to the annual harvest of approximately 5,000 tonnes of shrimp. As with turbot, all shrimp is processed, frozen and packaged within hours of capture and made ready for sale to European and Asian markets.
